Don't slow down the work for optics. There will be more work to do, you can be certain. The team can only benefit from your improvements, so why hold back?
3. Express your opinion when you see it. There will always be more ways to improve as the team evolves. There is not reason to hold back from sharing helpful improvements in a constructive manner.
Express your opinion but be gentle about it. I'm sure there are many things great with the team but if you see any potential improvements work on them. I've never seen an employer who doesn't appreciate an employee that goes above and beyond what they're asked to do (sometimes they're just indifferent). It will also give you a chance to see if you like your new job. If they make problems for you it's a clear indicator this place might not be the best fit for you as you seem very proactive.
