McKinsey & Company Any advice to help prepare for data science analyst role at top consulting firms (McKinsey & Company EY Boston Consulting Group etc)? Any materials, open source platform recommended to take on freelance data science project? When should I start actively looking and applying? I am a new grad who is working in tech as a marketing analyst I’m looking to pivot to marketing& sales data science consulting next year. Would like someone with similar backgrounds offer some practical tips.

BCG has ton of benefits

I’ve worked for ACN and Deloitte. And the answer is it really depends. ACN has good 401k match and ESPP also their top tier dental beats most companies including Deloitte. Deloitte has better health care options with a higher % coverage, quite a few more days off per year, far better paid leave options (for all circumstances), and if you stay long enough they have their pension program.
So if you’re young without a family I think Accenture wins. If consulting is just a stepping stone I think it’s a tie. If you’re later on in your career, plan to stay with the company for a long period of time and/or need better health coverage and leave benefits then I think Deloitte wins.
I don’t have any info on ey and pwc.

BCG by a long shot. Not PwC.
Definitely not PwC
Accenture consulting doesn’t pay well for home grown people. Experienced hire a ton more
Pwc3 makes sense as industry hires generally come in at a lower rank to build core consulting skills before managing people and projects, and consulting firms almost always try to lateral folks from other consulting firms to test them before leveling up
ACN 6% 401k 100% company match + 15% stock discount twice a year + comprehensive PPO healthcare + base salary + bonus(s)
Plus $15k that you are allowed to contribute to after tax 401k with in service withdrawals. Opens up opportunity for the mega backdoor Roth. My wife works for you all so I make sure that is maxed along with the ESPP

Accenture
Recently left Accenture for KPMG. Accenture is very cheap and does not provide any benefits outside of 401k/ ESPP.
What makes ACN and EY best (better)? ACN stock is nice tho

I have worked at Deloitte and EY
EY was better than Deloitte's imo, but not by much. And Deloitte pays more it looks like so I think it's largely up to one's preference.
Previously BCG, probably Bain or BCG now
