If your competitive salary requires me to live with three roommates and eat ramen in my 30s, then we have very different definitions of the word competitive. I’m looking at an Associate role in Greenwich that pays less than what I made as an Analyst five years ago. Is the industry-wide pay compression real?

It definitely feels real. A lot of these salary ranges seem stuck in a different market, while rent and everything else kept moving.

I think this is an extreme example. Plenty of companies are willing to pay a good wage.

Considering taking a position with a small-cap in the US trying to build their legal department. The title is standard “counsel” although the work would be with the senior leadership team and reporting to the GC in Europe. How reasonable is it to ask for a bump in title - Senior counsel or Head of Legal, US? If it matters, I am a 6th year and have been told that I will be expected to hire a junior or paralegal as we build up.

Any women here with lean PCOS? I do not ovulate on my own (metformin regulated my periods but I still don’t ovulate) and am moving from three cycles of Clomid/IUI to IVF soon. No other issues have been found other than my PCOS (HSG shows tubes open). Curious about your experiences. And the reason I mentioned lean PCOS is because it seems for others with PCOS part of the fertility path is diet/exercise/weight loss but I am already very tiny.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.
