Update- it’s early days and my blood test is tomorrow but I took two pregnancy tests and they were both positive. So, it can happen!
So happy for you, it is very possible yo get pregnant with PCOS, trust your doctor, take CoQ1, hit it with letrozole/chlomid and progesterone and should be good.
However there are always exceptions and do realize some women may struggle more. Keep your head up.
hey— i’m very familiar with lean PCOS. One thing that’s worth mentioning, typically REs use Letrozole with PCOS patients. There may be a reason why your doctor chose Chlomid specifically, however I think it’s worth asking why it was their preference? Data shows Letrozole has a better response than Chlomid for PCOS patients and tends to have far less emotional/physical side effects. I had no side effects when using letrozole and it also got the job done.
My wife has lean pcos, tiny, tubes open,
She did progesterone for 10 days, letrozole and she got pregnant on first try.
This gives me hope!
I have lean PCOS, do not ovulate, and get like 1 or 2 random periods a year. I did one cycle of clomid w timed intercourse that did not work at all- I got my period right after finishing the pack (so two weeks early). I did clomid + IUI on the next “cycle” (in quotes, bc I don’t really have periods so just started clomid whenever) and got pregnant on the first try.
Thought I’d share that it’s kind of all over the place w us PCOSers. IVF is usually advised after 3 failed IUIs, so it sounds like you’re on the right path.
Good luck to you!!
Also lean PCOS. Was diagnosed pretty early as a child with very irregular periods (once a year) and acne. I also don’t ovulate and will try for children in a couple of years. Agree the path is more terrifying especially as the advice is also “lose more weight”. I was actually told to gain weight and make sure my bmi was in the normal category. Also now take myoinositol.
Not sure what “lean pcos” is but I have a slight hormonal imbalance that falls under pcos but isn’t… confusing I know. No other symptoms of pcos. Hsg tubes are good and no other issues.
I don’t ovulate on my own or if I do get a period it’s for 2 days and not a “real” one. Currently in “timed intercourse with ovulation injection and progesterone. Find out in 5 days… then it’s into real iui.
I guess I have lean Pcos. They never told me that directly. And agree with other comment- I was on letrozol vs clomid. That part of the process worked so far, 18mm and 17mm before inducing

I was told I have lean PCOS based on elevated androgens and no ovulation after I went off birth control for 6 months. I’m not actually convinced I have that. Maybe if I had waited longer or taken some natural paths to get my cycles back on track I could have avoided a lot of fertility stuff.
But I digress. For my first, after I was diagnosed with PCOS, I used letrozole to induce ovulation. We tried 5 cycles timed intercourses and then went to IUI. Was successful with our third IUI and my son is 4 now.
I was diagnosed with lean PCOS after my first round of IVF (which yielded 32 eggs…. Ouch!). I can only tell you IVF worked and whatever pregnancy (or immense amounts of pure luck) did, I ended up naturally pregnant 15 months after giving birth. Fertility is certainly a winding road for some of us! Best of luck!

I have lean PCOS. I am small and ovulate (albeit with irregular cycles), but have 30+ follicles and slight hormone imbalance, hence the diagnosis. Still not pregnant after a year of trying naturally, multiple cycles of letrozole, and 2 rounds of IVF. It is indeed a journey.
Good luck to you!
I went back and looked at my charts and I was actually taking letrozole and not Clomid (took a mental health break for a bit before now jumping into IVF so I had forgotten). Prior to the three IUIs we did just letrozole and timed intercourse for a while because I was pretty young (27). And prior to that we tried for over a year before my PCOS diagnosis, so it’s been a long road. My doctors all seem to be pretty confounded as to both (1) why I don’t ovulate on my own, and (2) why I don’t get pregnant even when medications are making me ovulate because all other things appear normal. So I am desperately hoping IVF works.

I assume you ruled out male factor and any anatomical issues? IUIs are a bit of a crap shoot. Each cycle has about 20% chance of success so try not to get too down that they didn’t work. IVF could totally be the answer for you!
