I'm looking but I'm hanging on to the job I've got. I'd just like to be doing some more interesting. And, of course, I'd like to be getting more money. So far the job search is pretty stagnant. I was hoping this year would see some improvement on that front, but I'm not seeing it yet.
I feel you on that. It’s tough when you’re stuck in a job that’s not challenging or paying what you deserve. Hopefully things pick up soon! It can be frustrating when progress feels slow, but just keep pushing and something will come through.
Definitely number 3, but I will not let go of my current role until I find another. I feel like I could be earning more, and be in a role where there isn't a glass ceiling (not in terms of gender). With the way the job market is now, I feel like I am going to searching for a while.
That's a good move. Never quit your current job if you don't have something lined up.
3- In my case it is a mix, although the team is quite amazing. I am stuck at graduate level salary for the past 2 years which is not anywhere close the average wage where I live. The company has also made businesses with countries and businesses I do not align with. I am also looking to work remote/hybrid instead of fully in office, I'm a software engineer, I shouldn't need to be in office everyday.
I could also say 2 as the industry I work in is not necessarily the one I want to stay in for the rest of my life.
Redundancy
I was self employed and my husband had a stroke in 2024. Our entire world has been turned upside down. I dont have 16 hour each day to rebuild my business. Now I need a job where I can help someone else's business that can offer financial stability and advancement.
Unemployed and looking for a job as i am fresher
1.
More a 4th option. Pending merger and not been at the company long enough to get a good pay out so leaving before I get made redundant for job security.
1.unemployed
I quit my job almost a year and a half ago because I was feeling fed up/burned out. I had set (what I thought was) enough money aside for just such an occasion, but wasn’t expecting the market to get this bad (I am a veteran of the dotcom implosion in the Bay Area).
I've been trying to transition into a new role in a new industry. I am a philologist and had worked 13 years in translation and teaching activities. I felt there was an urge for a major change and, although the career shift seemed daunting, I believed it was worth it. Been working in IT as a part-time BA for a year, still a steep learning curve. Currently my attempts to get into a larger company with transparent processes and mentorship seems like an impossible feat. Still persevere and actively sending my CV.
1 - Unemployed and looking for a job
1 - I was laid off in September so I'm unemployed and looking for work.
3. My role as an university faculty has low payment.
Combination of 1 & 2. 1 because of 2, if you will...
1 for me
Although I may never have been in such a situation but still have a pretty good sense of them. What I have thought about each one of them in the following way:
Why do people lose their jobs? There is no economic security or professional growth. More about behavior of people in life.
A career change is one that is a significant step toward an ultimate goal or the pursuit of your passion. It will be more because it is a pursuit of a challenging job, new skill or even an achievement of something fancy that applies only on the way to undertaking.
My current position makes me feel uncomfortable - I'm on the verge of retiring and just getting out there to find a better place. This concept focuses on personal success and happiness. When I cannot grow in my current job as my previous work was a sick place then the problems could be that it is impossible for me to grow in. I also get a lower salary than They also want to win the same company values as Or to say the other way round I could just give up.
Always ask a friend for friendships is pleasant.
Contract ended after client reorganized. It has been very rough to get new System Admin or Infrastructure Engineer job.
Unemployed and looking for a job...it's quite frustrating sending applications and all you get is "we regret to inform you..."but I keep trying regardless.
2- Earned a new certification in the career role i want and my current job dose not offer that role.
Toxic workplace
