This sounds like it’s anxiety. Sure, good things often come to an end. But here’s what’s possible: The perfect job has happened to you once, it can absolutely happen again. Why move forward in fear? You’re not benefitting from this worry unless you use it to accept that it’s also possible a new job won’t bring you the same joy (and you’d still find a way to deal with it).
But it’s the ruminating on this worry that i think maybe isn’t so good. Be present where you are and cross that bridge if need be. The future is uncertain for everyone. The sooner we accept this, the more we can live in what’s good about now.
I’m in that phase but I’m feeling bored and wondering if I should move on for growth or if I will regret it. Or I should just aim for promotion here even if it’s not that much more $ but I feel it’d still be pretty cushy and supportive.

Has anyone else felt this tension—being happy where you are but anxious about the future? How do you prepare for the next move without letting fear overshadow the present?

Maybe it depends on your industry. In law firm marketing, at director level, my last 4 roles have just been exhausting, overwork, not enough resources, and the majority of director level of above folks are really having to deal with a lot of work and stress (and the pay is nowhere near the level that the attorneys are making, even though in some cases we're doing as many hours). So the grass won't be greener for me if I move on; just the pay may increase a bit more. Not sure if that's how it works in your type of role and industry.
You can worry about tomorrow until your last day, but what’s the point? Either enjoy it now or accept that it’s too easy and make it into something more than what it is now. But don’t worry about what may or may not happen if you do or do not move on. That is a waste of mental energy.

I’ve felt this a lot recently, I’m really scared to make the jump to a new job for a new challenge because everything at the moment is just so comfortable.
