Whatever is most relevant to the job you’re applying to
But if you were a national merit scholar valedictorian
I must know that and it must be tattooed on your arm
Seriously if your resume is longer than a page I really hope you do not expect me to read it
Ah, I see, lol, Deloitte1 is trolling…
Pro
When I was 3 in preschool, I made a bar chart with apples
There were more red apples than green apples and more green apples than yellow apples
I include that, not anything before that though
All the way.
In my first job I was an intern on the team helping deliver Fire 1.0.
Generally, no more than 15
7 years in detail. Before that, only valuable if majorly important.
And if working in/with AI, vary little more than 4 years old matters. So very detailed near term. Provide less detail the further back you go.
Depends how many roles you have had. I am 18 into my career. The first page is just the last 3 companies and education. The second page says “early career” and has the other 4 jobs with just company, title, dates, and one short bullet
Rising Star
Depends. Do you mean executive resume? General full resume? Resume for the position?
If executive, whatever hits the high points.
Limit it to 10 for the recent stuff
First internship
I start at the military, but that and early jobs are just one liners of Company + title. I spend the actual real estate of mine with the most relevant things to my current role or future desired role
Fired as a summer camp counselor when I was 15 for being a bit too intense. (Hey, give me a break - my father was a military man! Old school…)
Rest assured, that little doozy will always be showcased on my resume. 😉
