I’m 35, I’m a Manager at a mid-tier firm, and I realized today that I genuinely don't care about accounting anymore. I don't care about the new tax laws, I don't care about the audit methodology, and I don't care about the client's EBITDA. I’ve spent the last 13 years building a career in a field I have zero passion for, and now I’m too expensive to start over in something else. Is it possible to find a meaningful job in finance, or should I just accept that work is for money and find my meaning in my hobbies?

I’m 53 now and I feel the same way. PIVOT NOW. Life is too short to feel like 8-12hrs of your day are soul sucking. Do research on what makes you happy. Consult a career or life coach. Do something. You are young enough to pivot and still earn a great income as you move toward retirement.

I agree with the comment above. If you are feeling that way, it is time to get out now. Life is way too short to work a job that you do not care about.

Let me tell ya, I’m turning 38 in May. I came to the same realization right around 35 and it definitely won’t come roaring back by staying in the same position. I’m hoping my new role changes that.

I feel exactly the same way!!

I always say try as many jobs as you can until you realize you are good at something and can make money out of it without hating the job itself.

Work is for money. Get that money and go skiing or something.

Hi fishes,

I have the following 2 offers..

Cognizant- 21L fixed and 1.5L variable
PWC - 22L fixed

This is for a guidewire role.
Which is a better offer? What would be a good option for growth wrt role, salary etc.
Also, PWC claims to offer variable based on their fixed CTC based on the ratings.. is this true ? How much is the avg percentage given?

Thanks in advance!

After rejecting big companies like Infosys,Wipro, etc. I've joined EPAM Anywhere due to wfh permanently and it's perks. But after spending 1 and half month HR called me to search the opportunity outside of EPAM, means they're laying off people. It's unfair behaviour of the organisation. I've given some interviews they're playing interview interview with me, for the hiring process technical interview then for project - technical interview, client process - starts from 1st Round.EPAM Systems

Hi Fishes, I've 2.25 Years of experience in SAP Basis, but I've lost interest in the same due to not receiving proper training, inability to practice on customer's system and shifts. I'm looking forward to go for MBA/changing technology, which one would be a better option? In case of the latter can you guys suggest lucrative technologies which has little/no coding and can definitely give good packages? I've tried changing jobs in Basis for nearly one year and didn't get through. Please help me.
