I’m a ‘94 kid, rarely go in the office, and like generally am in my job solely for my paycheck. All this to say I’m fairly young and usually couldn’t care less about the hierarchy and stiffness of big law.

But like…I’m supervising Gen Z first years and summers sending emails without capitalization and stuff? I’m all for pushing back at the system, but I do think there may be something to the lack of professionalism in this new generation lol.

Should I complain to a firm's HR if the interviewers laughed at my answer during an interview? Stub here with 3 months in. I work in litigation for a AM100 regional office. No issues with hours yet (45% over target) but just learned a 2nd and 3rd year missed their hours goal this year. Should I seek out projects from the transactional team during slow periods to ensure I hit billable, or is that frowned on?

How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.
