I’m a few years into consulting. I want to leave my firm but have been falling flat with applications. Only one request for interview. Who do you recommend for resume review? Also, any suggestions on networking / recruiting assists? I feel a little handicapped having been remote for all 4 yrs on the dark side . Currently in Houston, did 9 years active duty, MBA, and then 4 in consulting.

I have always just found someone on Upwork to do my resume but most recently I used Chat GPT and actually had great results so that is a good route to go as well.

Honestly, it’s a tough market. Try to upskill, maybe a cert or some other training. Looks like the market will get better by summer

Appreciate this. It’s wild though how many job listing I find on LinkedIn.

I’d look for the vet recruiters at large corporations. For our team we almost always connect with them and try to use our personal networks if there isn’t something available. What kind of work are you interested in and are you geographically restricted?

I am restricted to Houston / remote. I’d love to find something in Houston as on-site or hybrid.

Looking for program management in healthcare operations or strategy.

Will do more digging for veteran networks within the orgs I’m looking at here. Thanks!

What kind of consulting?

I gained weight during my last relationship (probably around 30 lbs, and I’m 5’9”). Before my relationship, I felt like I could get any guy. But I’ve been single for 2 years now and it’s been so hard to date. I’m not sure if maybe I’ve lost confidence, but I legitimately don’t know how to get a guy to be interested. Any pointers?

Why is it that when ever I look at “entry level” jobs in IT they always want 2-4 years of experience. It’s entry level that means maybe some certifications if they didn’t major in the field or a degree in the field. Not 2-4 years already working in the field. Can someone please explain this to me?

I am a traditional reservist so I never really used military benefits before, but could use advice here.

I am currently renting and my lease is not up until October 2021, however I found a good deal on a home and scheduled to close in June 2021.

My landlord will not work with me to end the lease early, so it looks like I will have to double up on rent and mortgage through the summer.

If I went on active duty orders, can I use those orders to break my lease early without penalty?

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.
