Hi There!
Just from observation, I’ve noticed that working in the healthcare field is not just about experience, it’s about networking. It’s so many talented and experienced healthcare workers. I feel that with dedication you can learn to do any task (the technology has advanced). It’s more than your work! I’ve seen things where a new hire was picked before someone who worked at a the company for 15 years. Patience is key! Its so many resources to where you can obtain more knowledge and master your skills. Just give it some time.
but you will make it! NEVER quit
Keep applying! There is no clear way to get a job in Informatics. Use being an RN to your advantage. If there are clinical workflows that you perform using a certain software or vendor, capitalize on that. If your hospital offers training to get certified or learn software applications like CBT nuggets or become a super user for the new implementation of a process or system, be the first in line because those skills of being an operational user and knowing the workflow while building a new system will prove invaluable!
