Try credentialed trainer to get foot in the door then go for analyst if you can’t immediately get analyst
Look for jobs at hospitals for epic analysts. It might be easier to get another entry level job at the hospital first. I started of at the IT help desk then after a year was able to get in as an Epic Security analyst.
I agree with above. It’s easier to get the analyst (in most cases “builder”) position if you’re already working internally for their IT dept/in an entry level position. At my last employer, I went from bedside to IT/temp credentialed trainer then eventually nurse informatics and could have applied for analyst position (encouraged by that team’s manager since both teams work closely) but I left the org.
If you’re a clinical person, some hospitals will sponsor you and pay for your certification and training. Mine did.
