Nurse manager here - it all really boils down to what type of role you see yourself in. Every nursing position comes with a side of politics.. it’s up to you how you handle it. I personally like nursing leadership because I get to impact and lead a great group of individuals. I personally know that I’m functioning in my role to give them the type of leadership that I wish I had early in my career.
That I am, I’m seeking all kinds of advice I can get. I genuinely think I can be very happy going either way as long I’m making an impact and have a decent WLB.
I really enjoy coding and problem solving and would love to know more about the data structures and information systems behind it all.
I’m also at my core a lover of people and want to work with people often and want to lead, make important decisions, and advocate for what’s best.
I think both areas can lead too that, but I feel I’m trying to hit the middle of a Venn diagram that doesn’t exist lol
