I’m a recent LLM graduate from Melbourne Law School. I’ve returned to my hometown (Jakarta, Indonesia) and became a Legal Counsel in the FinTech industry. I’m wondering whether I still have a chance to pursue my career as a legal professional in Melbourne? I have 3,5 years experience as an IP lawyer in Indonesia. Need help with the steps and possibilities.

Hey! Absolutely - it depends on whether a law firm or company is willing to supervise you while you get your full practicing certificate. Also, visa. What’s your status? I live in Melbourne, can help!

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

My wife and I just had our second child, and we have also been dealing with her cervical cancer diagnosis. It has been a stressful year, to say the least. I want to do something nice for her, but money is tight right now because of the cancer treatment costs, and her being on unpaid leave because of the cancer treatments. What is something low cost I can do that will be a nice “couples thing” so we can de-stress, but also make her feel special?

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? I am a new (lateral) associate at a small firm where everyone currently works from the office. When I started, I wasn’t told specific firm hours. I’ve tried to figure out when to come and go based upon when the partners arrive and leave, but their schedules are very inconsistent. The other associates don’t have helpful guidance for me. Assuming that if I ask the partners they’ll say to use my discretion, what are reasonable hours to keep?
