Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

Personally, I’d suggest PMP and maybe a SAFe cert like Leading SAFe (for the knowledge on how to plan agile programs at scale, not the cert itself) , and then an MBA (if you want to continue).
Most project management certs/certificates outside of PMP don’t hold a ton of value for career advancement. I have a ton of certs (former net/systems admin turned PM) including all your scrum ones and the only ones I think helped my career (listed in order of impact) are:
-PMP
-MBA
-salesforce admin & CPQ
-Cisco CCNA
The rest gave me knowledge but no real career bump. I don’t imagine a certificate (like the Cornell one) would add any further value either.
My old employer paid for it. That’s actually the expensive part but I did find it useful. It was like a 3 day bootcamp in downtown Boston. I think it cost about $1200 in 2012
For me getting a PMP did open doors. I also felt that I got more respect while interviewing. I dont think you need a certificate before getting a PMP tho. You can fulfill the pm education requirement by taking a Udemy course or something. Feel free to DM me my company is hiring!
Thanks for the tips. I was wondering about where to take those education/course requirements. I did hear about Udemy so I’ll check them out. Any particular course I should look into? I’ll DM you now. Thank you!
I’d encourage you to check out Reddit r/PMP for a bunch of insight about best practices for how to pass the test. I haven’t officially enrolled, but I’d also lean toward Udemy vs getting a certificate since you’ll save thousands. Andrew Ramdayal also has a well received course that I’m thinking of taking. For a few hundred dollars and a few week of self study you can be all set! Best of luck!
I used Andrew Ramdayal and passed on Monday. So I second your recommendation!
