As long as you don’t stay a generalist for too long, I would think it may benefit you. As a generalist, you will get to learn how the business operates - which can be valuable knowledge to have, even if you go back to a specialty role.
Keep touching it even as a generalist. Then it won’t be an old skill and you can leverage it.
idk why i worded it like that (lawyer brain rot). I just mean keep working in that area in some way!
