I’m a newer registered nurse (2 years) and want to get into remote work. I keep getting denied due to lack of experience but to even get the job I have now (case manager) the company knew one of my family members and they gave me a chance to interview because of that. For these remote companies where I don’t have connections how can I transition over?

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition.
