I worked hard at a small agency and was promoted from AE to AS after only 8 months in the industry. I had to leave and found a contract position as an AS at a large agency. I am finishing my contract and my boss offered me a permanent position, but wants me on as an AE. I am open to the AE position, but they are unwilling to compromise on the AE salary which is a substantial cut from my salary at my former agency and 45% of my contract pay. What do I do? Do I leave if I feel I deserve more?
Anyone have any insight into salary range for a business development role at a NYC hedge fund? $15bn AUM and headcount around 30. Recent college grad so it’s an entry level role. Hiring manager described it as a front office role
What are the potential benefits of working at a deals oriented firm (e.g., LEK, S& Deals, EY-P) as compared to the more traditional Big 4 MC type roles at the post-M level? Really struggling with putting in the hours for the deals centric role as I’m not 100% sure of the longer term payoff (besides short term slight bump in comp).
Can anyone share info on what salary + bonus I should base my expectations on at Deloitte coming in as a consultant w/ two years industry experience + undergrad?

What are your thoughts on moving from analytics consulting (incentive compensation, forecasting) to strategy consulting? I recently made the same move and am wondering if I made the right choice?
What does compensation look like at the Partner/MD level? I know this varies, but interested to know at Big4, MBB, Public firms (Accenture/IBM), boutique consulting. Wondering if staying for the long run is worth it
Does anyone know the starting salary for Jackson Lewis in the firm's Connecticut office, as well as the billable hours requirement?
Anyone know what the promotion bonus is when you make manager in EY Tax? Not talking PBB, just bonus purely related to promotion. Thanks.
My firms bonus structure is based on “billed out” (what a partner actually bills to the client) dollars instead of actual hours billed. So you can work 2000 hours but the bonus is based on only 1850 hours, because 150 got cut over the year. Is this normal? It seems entirely unfair and makes it impossible to get a bonus.
Looking for advice. Current senior 2 - 80k comp. have an opportunity to join client with salary of 125k plus 6k bonus plus 6k or so of stock. Weighing up pros and cons. Big diff in numbers - but ....

I have been pursuing a job at a certain firm for over a year. They initially rejected me, but then offered me a job after I had already accepted and started at another firm. Well now I have been laid off and I reached back out to this firm. They called me 4 weeks ago and asked me a few questions, asked about my requested salary and mentioned a possible interview. Now it has been radio silence for 4 weeks. Should I just keep waiting?
Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!
Interviewing with PWC digital risk solutions group - any pointers on what I can expect or any knowledge from people who are familiar with the DRS group. Input on company culture would also be great.
I received a welcome offer for Amex platinum of 150K membership rewards points in the mail today, a week or two past signing up for the card for the card with a 100K welcome bonus. Is it possible to contact them and get the offer upgraded retroactively? Does anyone have experience with this?
If you ran into someone tomorrow at lunch and they offered you an unpaid full time 4 month internship. Is there any person or position that could make you want to take it?
Cold applied to McKinsey just for the hell of it. Got a call for a screening. Have no idea what to expect in the screen or overall interview process. Any tips/insights? (I’m now wishing I paid more attention to the MBB interview stuff in this app - I hear there’s a case? Haha 🤔)
Could anybody share lessons learned from returning from military leave? I’m finding it more difficult to get staffed on that first project back than I anticipated.

My dog is the biggest mamas boy. We will be out of town for a week soon and when we took this vacation last year, he wouldn't walk with anyone but me. I want my cousins kids to be able to walk him this year, any ideas on how to do this?

I Have more sparetime now (Thanks Covid!) and I wanted to invest it in data skills related courses. I found one on data camp called "Data Skills for Business" and then was planning to continue with their "data analyst with Python" career track. What do you think of those two courses? Sinon, do you have any suggestions for better alternatives? Thanks! 🙏🏻
Thinking of getting a new CC - is the Amazon card good for points/cash back? I do a lot of shopping on Amazon
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Stumbled across this group a little earlier than I should have (husband and I are just starting to try!) Does anyone have any advice when it comes to alcohol, specifically having a few drinks the week of ovulation? I’ve cut it off cold turkey the past few months but will be on vacation for the first time in a while during the week we will officially start trying. I’ve read some articles that say one drink is okay, but others say not to. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
