Take a week off if you can. At many places, they have 1 year before paid maternity kicks in.
do you think you could try to stick it out until your maternity leave? then you can get paid while you're out/ apply for jobs and just don't come back. 🙏🏻
Let your current firm know you’re pregnant asap. Once they know, you’re a protected class, it would be a challenge to fire you. Then just do the bare minimum until baby comes, milk the crap out of maternity leave, and find and new job once it runs out.
Unfortunately, you’re kind of stuck. Most companies require 1 year before you qualify for those kinds of benefits (like FMLA). You might get short term disability
No, do not mention your pregnancy to potential employers... your medical health is private and they have no right or need to know until they need to know.
EY and Deloitte allow you to qualify day 1 for maternity leave. There’s also several companies that will let you do the same such as Nike, Hatch, etc. you can search a list. I switched jobs at 28 weeks pregnant, got an amazing opportunity and also was able to qualify for leave.
Medical leave!
Start applying for a new place! If you start soon enough you should also be in a good position to take your PTO+ maternity leave
Absolutely under no circumstances do you mention to a potential employer that you are expecting. And they are NOT allowed to ask you about your plans to conceive or start a family.
