Think they did a good job on this piece. It was a truly embarrassing moment for the firm, but I think it’s being handled as well as can be expected. Should go smoothly this year 🤞

Damn 3 months and out nice ha
Don't give a notice at all. They don't deserve it and they'll likely fire you the same day anyway.
idiot move
If it’s going industry, you’ll be able to stay (most likely, but might be different because you’re so new). I’d wait til 2 weeks before before putting in your notice.
I just put in my two weeks and I’m working out my last two weeks because I’m going industry, so I can only assume that’s what it will be.
They wouldn't give you 2 weeks notice before firing you. Being so new they might just laugh and fire you the same day.
I remember back in the 90s, the boss gave an accountant 2 weeks notice to find a new job. A few years later, when two big name (and big money) clients left, there were massive cutbacks. Not only was I let go immediately, all my clients had already been notified (I called to give them a heads-up on the situation and they told me that they knew about it earlier that week), and the employee who was taking over my clients was trying to move into my desk before I was able to pack up my belongings.
Wow, yea that's awful. Times have changed. Some managers might try to help but mostly no. Everyone acts so corporate "professional" it is sickening. I've had a few aburpt endings despite alot of extra effort on my part. Only once when i was a contractor and the contract was coming to an end did they let me know 2weeks before that they weren't going to renew the contract again. Which was nice, but then again it's not like i was an employee. And i already figured out the big lie of the "temp to hire" part as they were "restructuring" the finance department and out of the few jobs they were keepkng, those jobs went over 3 hours away.
At a higher level where Managers or Directors are going from one Big 4 to a competitor the firm might walk them out immediately and then enforce noncompete, but at a lower level that is not usually the case.
Be respectful and give a notice. Don't burn bridges, you never know when/if it may haunt you.
I would suggest you be honest and let your direct supervisor know slightly before 2 weeks. You have only been there less than 5 months so they aren’t going to feel any loyalty towards you.
Give the two weeks notice - you never know who your next interviewer will be. They may not keep you if you are going to a competitor but they may still pay out the two weeks. Don't burn any bridges.
