💯 Agree! Not sure why it’s taken this route. Maybe because clients are asking for faster and more work volume, while AI and other tools have made “finished” less time consuming, so it’s more tempting to hang there. But I think it contributes to less thinking in the work.
Quick iterations, without the focus on finish yet, allows productive concepting. There’s brain can fire and become “ idea bursty” rather than tripped up on details prematurely. There’s a momentum that supports depth and substance—the foundation for great creative.
The deeper thinking, the trudging through the most obvious ideas needs to happen before the idea gems surface, and we never get there by focusing too early on visual treatments and executions that we love—these become distractions to our best concept work.
I wish more creatives understood and embraced this.
