If you don’t get a prompt response regarding your claim, you can reach out to your state (not federal) house representative or senator. Their office will send a letter or email to the state agency that manages unemployment claims and, on your behalf, they can inquire about the status of your claim. That usually helps with moving things along faster.

I feel like my employer thinks I’m losing my shit.

I started traveling while working remote and fell in love with the mountains. I’m now applying to be a full time remote employee and fear they won’t approve it.

I feel like I have to defend that I’ve found more in life that makes me happy than just work.

How do I pitch that I need to live elsewhere for my happiness and not near an office?

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.
