Im pursuing my LL.M. in order to qualify to sit on the Bar. But my current employer is not looking nice at the idea that I will be working and studying at the same time. Thoughts?

Your boss hired you to be a paralegal full time. Of course they aren’t keen on you studying or even becoming a lawyer.

None of your boss' business.

I think you should take an English class before doing an llm.

Ultimately do what’s best for you. Will you be able to manage your workload and studying at the same time? Once you sit for the bar would you want to stay at the same place or go somewhere else? There are many factors to consider. Also, if they are not happy with the idea would you drop your LLM?

Why are you pursing an LLM instead of a JD?

I know this is possible but curious if Sizmek or Flashtalking are more common in this type of creative development.

I am lead counsel on a case - we’re suing 3 businesses and my supervisor is a named incorporator of one of the businesses although he is not an officer. He is asking me to bring the file and meet with him about the progress of the case. I reminded him of the conflict and he stated that the conflict was resolved because he also has a claim against 1 of the companies that he recently filed separately. I don’t see how that resolved the conflict…and he’s fully pressuring me to meet. How to respond?

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
