Is MBB hiring right now ?
Hello Everyone!
I have done my bachelor's in mechanical engineering and master's in engineering management for process excellence from the uni of Glasgow and uni of Strathclyde respectively. I'm currently looking for jobs and have 2 years of running my own company. I'd be glad if anyone can help me with this and guide me accordingly. It would be ideal if I could get anything in process/operations but I'm flexible and am open to explore new areas.
Regards,
Aman

It takes less than a month, the test itself is like 20 minutes long. You find out right there if you passed. They mail you your commission card and you can order your stamp right away. It is a good thing to have to add to your resume.
There are state-specific requirements. In Ohio, a background check and three-hour long online class followed by an exam are required. The Secretary of State's website says it can take 2-6 weeks. I got my commission in about 4 weeks (but that was doing the class around office obligations). I think the longest part was waiting for my stamp and seal.
In one state, I had to take a test. Didn’t take long then I went to get my stamp ordered from staples or somewhere. Moved to a new state and checked online.. did a form online with two folks to vouch for me and again, just ordered a stamp and kept it pushing. I think every county is a little different but I’ve done my renewals online. I don’t think it took me much longer than a couple weeks to get everything. Firm paid for them each time.
I’d say the time commitment is pretty reasonable. I'm in Texas, and mine took about a month, but it varies by state. The hardest part was waiting for my commission to be approved. As for whether it’s worth it, I'd say yes, definitely, but that depends on your job. Being a notary saves me a ton of time. I don’t use it every day, but when I do, it’s super convenient. Plus, you can always do side work as a notary if you want to make a little extra money.
