The year I spent in pharma was one of the worst I've ever had.
But it paid for my wedding completely!
Hell, my inlaws weren't complaining.
LOL the consumer creatives complaining about pharma continue to be the most hilarious part of this app.
The agency was filled with sychophants. He was an old dinosaur that didn’t understand social media and thus avoided it. He presented a sizzle at an agency retreat that got a great response. Then he had the great idea of producing the sizzle and turning it into an actual ad about the agency. As a veteran of over 40 years in the business his first thought should have been I’m going to be recreating stolen footage, I going to be producing a 2minute ad with a cast of hundreds in multiple locations in different climates, I don’t have a budget. He tortured me for weeks to bring his genius idea to life. I found him two very talented, young, hungry directors that were willing to go on this folly with him. Ultimately, he went with a very reputable director from the late 90’s, early aughts whose glory days were well behind him. I got a budget from director’s producer. Created a deck for him. He brought the documents to the president of the agency, and she laughed in his face. I finally had enough. At my exit interview I told HR that the pharma division was a law suit waiting to happen with all the sexist, misogynistic shenanigans going on. Nothing ever happened. The CCO was a Cheetolini loving, MAGA cult member. I only bring this up because I just looked at his Facebook page. He just posted about how his in-ground pool is nearly complete with a video of a bunch of South American workers plastering the pool. Even after 1/6 he’s still a MAGA loving prick. I only hope this creative hack’s stock portfolio is in freef all at the moment.

It’s saying that there is always going to be someone that is going to diminish the work you do. Don’t let them get to you. Trust your gut, like I should have, don’t get too seduced by whatever they’re offering you. If it doesn’t feel right. There’s a reason.
