In 2025 the traditional hiring playbook just isn’t cutting it. With economic pressure, shifting priorities, and AI pushing teams to stay lean Full-time feels like too much. Advisory-only feels too little.

Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

Personally I think fractional employees are just grifters who can't deliver results and don't stick around long enough to see the impact (or lack thereof) of their work.
Maybe a bad experience? I and other fractionals I know are project-based; their livelihoods depend on delivering results (often overdelivering), keeping clients happy, and maintaining a positive relationship to ensure measurable impact so they can have referrals, case studies, and testimonies. I won’t act as if there aren’t snake oil salespeople because, like all fields and industries, there are bad actors, but for the most part, fractional cannot risk an unsuccessful engagement.
Curious have you gotten any gigs so far?
Yeap! I’m still very brand new, right now my client is very involved so trying to keep prospects active for when this project ramps down.
