I'm the one on my team who just calls it like it is. If I feel tension, I'll straight up ask "Why am I feeling tension right now? Is it me? Am I crazy? Or is anyone feeling this, too?" Sometimes team members will speak up, other times they won't, but pointing out the elephant in the room usually prevents it from growing. I've even had team members talk to me after and say they noticed it and where they thought it was stemming from, which give us something to work with.
Creative teams especially deal with a lot of personal feelings, is the best way I can put it. You put your heart and ideas out there to crickets or criticism, neither feels great. A lot of the time, if you can reframe it as collaboration for the best project, it helps, but it needs to be a constant conversation.
If it doesn’t have anything to do with you then don’t get involved at all. Let them deal with this in hopefully a respectful manner- and definitely don’t take sides, keep it neutral
