In the topic of applying jobs, leaving jobs. How do you resign? Would you keep it simple or go in depth with why you are leaving etc?

I always give a basic reasoning. Is it a money thing or something else? Current employer does not need details, but they do need to know your reason for leaving.

Keep it simple. Have a letter ready. I’ve had colleagues say don’t tell your boss where you are going. I’ve told my boss in the past, blamed it on pay, and kept a good relationship with the team

I was remote when I resigned so I had to do email

Keep it simple, I find that giving more details just gives the person ammunition to try to sway your decision.

There's a debate about this going on in the Google bowl, which I find interesting. Most people are saying they don't have a problem with this, but I think it's deeply unfair.

The argument that resonates with me is that if you move to a LCOL city the value of your output isn't all of sudden worth 25% less.

Curious what others in the industry think.

I started a small LLC on the side. My company is getting it's first client this month.

Wondering if any 🐟 have recommended resources on setting up initial consulting business thru an LLC.

Books, websites, tax strategies etc.

My LLC is already incorporated, but looking for guidance with the next steps (creating contracts, invoices, etc)

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $400k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!

Hi HR Professionals! I am revising our current employment application form. Per SHRM, I was just curious if any HR Professionals completely removed the following fields: social security number, recommend salary, graduation dates, military discharge info, race, maiden name like (Ms. Mrs. Ms), & criminal history questions. I was just curious what other Employers/HR Professional have done. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I also want to help my dad get into a permanent GOV role before he needs to retire, he’s been rejected by gov roles and can only work travel roles with fema, I don’t want him traveling as he’s getting too old and I just lost my mom a year ago. Any help would be appreciated!
