Additional Posts in Antiracist Educators
Hello! I am looking for two new Texas teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

It’s been a week. I appreciate those of you who shared your thoughts.
We are teachers! We should be able to have reasonable, productive, even spicy 😈😇 discussions.
Just remember, Do Not Feed the Trolls. 🚯
And use that Report feature. ⛔️
If they seem to be genuine and truly don't understand what being anti-racist means, then I think their posts should remain; it's good for us to engage with other viewpoints, especially if they're willing to discuss the matter.
If they're scammers or hit-and-run trolls obviously just trying to get a rise out of people, I think it's best to delete their posts and block 'em if necessary.
I know that's not always an easy distinction to make... being unwilling to defend their points or engage in further discussion is usually a good sign the person is a troll, though.
I agree 💯!
Personally I think people with intentions of curiosity who are honestly trying to grapple with what is before us, should be able to express their opinions and questions. Each one of us should be able to inform ourselves to make an educated understanding. It is a hard call though. When comments are clearly racist and for the purpose of causing disharmony, I understand blocking them. Thanks for inquiring.
I know I am still learning and growing … but, agree with blocking when posts are mean spirited w
ill intent.

When one does not understand the vocabulary/relevantTerms, definitions, concepts, and unable to comprehend, discussions are void - meaningless.
As educators, I hope that one might take note, review the scholarly material and meaningful post herein, and make inquiries as needed. This way we are equipped for the achievement of mutual goals within PublicEd.
If not, what is the meaning and intent?
High order to believe educators (in general…NOT all) research anything. They don’t!
I’m against blocking people. If people have legitimate questions or comments, we respond with legitimate answers and thoughts. If the conversation goes sideways because they’re just here to stir the pot, call them out on it and stop feeding them immediately. Let their comments speak for themselves.

Remember then, do not feed the Trolls when they get ridiculous. And Report when you choose.
