Agree with this. Practice with people. Film yourself if you have to (don’t worry; it’ll sound cringey but who cares). Practice so many times it becomes second nature.
I totally understand how you feel as I am like this too. No matter how much I had practiced, my brain just went blank and started shaking. It's hard for others to understand. I considered myself very lucky as my interviewer of my current job seemed to understand neurodiversity. He actually tried to calm me down when he saw me shaking.
You are certainly not alone. I’ve gone through peaks and valleys when it comes to managing my own nerves. While practice is great advice, I can psych myself out with too much of it. You are nervous because doing well means a lot to you and good managers will understand that.
After going through about 10 years without a major issue. Some setbacks I had experienced last year led to a series of panic attacks over a few month period. I finally decided to reach out to a doctor after doing some research on medications that can help. I was prescribed Propranalol which is heart medication.
While it is not a cure, it is something I can take in very small doses to slow my heart beat to get through difficult presentations and discussions. Obviously, if you can do without I would go with that option. I wanted to share though because I feel it is good for others to hear that it’s ok to reach out for help. You don’t have to deal with it on your own.
