McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

And... "Gay Rights Have Made Us Dumber: It’s Time To Get Back In The Closet.”
Dear God.
😡
A lot of people like to argue so there is still a place for that paper, I guess. "Britbarf News: all that's fit to piss off you angry conservative m'thrf#ckers, who get worked up to an outrage thinking there are happy gay people out there."
Thank you, McCann
@OP Still haven't changed my mind about the fact ads are ads and they'll keep running no matter what. The only people surprised by that are people like you, who live in a bubble and have zero sensitivity for the world around them. Also, before you run out of arguments and accuse me of being a Trump supporter or something like that (ew), all I'm saying is there's no point on being 😮. If you find it disgusting, be 😤 then 🏃🏻♀️to make a difference with whatever it is that you do. Your agency does a good job at that, actually (considering you're in the NY office). There's simply no point in fucking turning off ad blocker on Breitbart, lighting up a cigar, then coming to fishbowl to express your nuisance after seeing that Amazon does... business. Nothing will change unless action is taken. And babbling on Fishbowl isn't quite the way to get there.
Dude, I was trying to get some action. Excluding Breitbart from the list of websites where your ads show up is pretty easy. Calm down. I asked who's buying media for Amazon- any leads?
No one was surprised. For a copywriter you sure seem to have issues with reading and comprehension?
That's not how you asked it, buddy. Read your own words. Also, I'm calm. Like many people have said, there's a difference between anger and not caring about delivering the truth harshly. To me, the worst part of our industry is the bullshit, jargonism (hopefully that's a word), fake politeness and overall appearances. There's no point, especially over here, in propagating that culture. Hopefully you get where I'm coming from. But even if you don't, Amazon will keep running ads on Breitbart. And being "publicly" shamed on Fishbowl isn't going to change that.
Jeez Rick! Of course not. I asked - who's buying media for them? It can be a matter of some jr media buyer not having enough brains or caring enough to blacklist that website. There's no reason to propagate the culture of saying things just because you have fully functioning fingers and "writer" somewhere in your job description. If you have nothing to contribute, please move along. Or use your writing powers elsewhere, e.g. tipping off tech crunch and trade pubs, tweeting at Bezos and such.
I'm not saying things because I have fingers. You asked me to explain why Amazon advertises on Breitbart. After I gave you an appropriate response, "because it's advertising", you didn't seem to control your feelings. And now you're pathetically trying to make a point by literally contradicting yourself. I've answered you already. I did my part. Now, if you're not happy with the answer, or just really wants to know who is responsible for their media buy, that wouldn't been a better way to do it then to follow up over here, after some clickbait engineer from Havas wrongly poised me as the most insensitive human being in Advertising simply for not being surprised at the fact it's a business.
Now, don't tell me what to do with my words. Only naive Strategists and Flash animators from Havas think that tweeting at Bezos or pointing out headlines from alt-right morons is the way to make themselves feel a part of "the fight". I'll save my own resources to the causes I care for. And do it anonymously like I always did instead of trying to elevate my social status amid a group of incognito procrastinators...
*McCann not Havas, sorry. You guys are cool. Keep making them banners nice and sharp 👌🏼
You win and everyone else is wrong. Good night.
Sadly McCann person might have put too much emphasis on your personality, and that said personality proceeded to overtake the matter in question 😂
That line would be a fine way to excuse yourself out of a losing argument with your SO. Not here. Also, I swear to God I'll spend some time trying to track down that media buyer/comms planner/devil responsible for it. And once I do, I'll send you her/his info. Unfortunately, I wouldn't get my hopes up. A silly mistake from a Junior, or someone "forgetting about" Breitbart seems like a real stretch. We can all hope I'm wrong. Or we can do like one of @McCann's actually talented buddies did, and put a statue on the streets to raise awareness and promote change. Time will tell us if it was just for the lion. But still a better action than taking no action, and relentless trying to defend yourself from someone who called your bullshit. Good night.
