Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India

The Seattle freeze is real. Plus everyone is a nerd introvert.
That’s why Seattle has all the biggest companies in the world, but some how San Francisco has all the glory.
Seattle is a tough crowd based on my experience having moved here. I had better luck meeting friends once I found people with interest or hobby as native Seattlites are very closed off. That said, I always give everyone the benefit of three shots and then move on.
If you don’t ski, climb, or hike, it’s rather difficult.

It can be tough if you are from a place where there is a culture of a lot of social responsibility to welcome strangers. I don’t think Seattle residents are assholes, they just have built-in friend groups. And many people don’t want to hang out with coworkers outside of work, because they want work/life boundaries. I always recommend people join an activity they really enjoy: art classes, improv, hiking groups, dance groups, trail building with the WTA, etc. You’ll meet similar people who are usually also there to meet new people.
+1 to that. I have seen that folks are really friendly at work but don't want to socialize later.
LOL welcome to Seattle. If you want to have fun save yourself the trouble and leave sooner rather than later
You’re doing it wrong
Yeah I lived there for 3 yrs and had a tough time meeting ppl especially through work (west monroe)
