Depends on where you're living and expectations on housing. In DC, definitely no. In closeby suburbs (Alexandria, Arlington - VA; Bethesda - MD), no. In further surburbs in MD like Silver Spring, Rockville, Gaithersburg, maybe. In further VA suburbs like Tysons, Reston, maybe. Depends on your standard of living.
Looks like you're about $200k HHI. I make 260k+ depending on bonus and live in downtown DC. If you want more than 2 bedrooms in DC you're talking probably $4k/mo+ in decent areas. For a townhouse, $5k/mo+ (esp. on mortgage with rates). I pay about 3k for a 1 bedroom/2 ba with a den and it's just me. Main issue is housing. Everything else is not really burdensome.
So $200k can be good if your expectation is a smaller 2 bed downtown DC. If you want a house with a yard and three bedrooms, you're going to have to make some sacrifices.
Out by Dulles it can get cheaper depending on where you live. What you need to understand is there are pockets further out in VA that are just as expensive as DC like Tysons, Reston, and I'm sure others (I have only ever lived in DC so my knowledge of VA suburbs is limited to office visits and recreation). Many technology companies are located in Reston, VA in particular which drives up prices.
However, if you're OK with living in the suburbs, you won't have a problem finding a 2BA/2BA that is comfortable on $200k/yr HHI. So ask yourself the type of lifestyle you want. The closer you get to DC the more urban it is. But the more urban it is, the more of an issue space might be. But again it depends on what you consider "a lot of space." For me, 800 sq/ft+ is pretty roomy, but my friends from the southeast think I live in a box.
