Is a consistent, on-time commission check too much to ask for in this industry? I’m tired of being told that we’re a family every time I ask why our commission checks are three weeks late. Family doesn't pay my rent, and it certainly doesn't help when I'm the one carrying the team's revenue on my back while accounting sorts out the paperwork. It’s always a technical glitch when it’s money coming to me, but they’d be in my face in five seconds if I missed a single day of logging my calls.

That same "family" will cut you lose as soon as it benefits them more than keeping you on payroll, and it's toxic for them to use that to excue their bad behavior.

In my 25-year career I have never had a paycheck or commission check arrive even a day late, it's not normal or even excusable, and highlights mismanagement of company funds.

I want to one day have my own firm. Trying to think outside the box on how to get the experience w/o being in big law for ten years.

Thinking of applying to be an ASA and to the FL AGO. Would like trial experience or civil rights/con law work.

Thoughts appreciated!

I have heard murmurs of this. Been working my butt off in a very tough environment (great company, very toxic division) and they’re asking questions like “have you thought about looking for another job this year? Would you like to be working here next year? Does your work energize you?” etc. The truth is that I like the company and the work but I hope to move to another division next year.

I work as a Business Development Manager at a sports club.. I’ve been given a couple of months “trial” in the 6 figure and above sales in which I don’t see going back to my other role on lower sales. This was a somewhat good move for me until I consider missing out on commission each month that was more than my salary. (£25k salary, over £2k per month commission)
How do I go about raising this concern? I believe I should be paid more now and at least change my job title?

Sales Manager vs International Manager or should it be something else?

My employer is based in China, while I am in France. I remotely manage a global sales team, with team members from around the globe. They all work remotely as well.

Being remote, and managing an international remote team, I would like to know what should be my job title? Any idea or professionals that I may contact, please?

Thank you.

Been with an Asphalt and Concrete contractor in suburban Chicagoland for a little over 2 years now, and am going into a compensation discussion tomorrow after informing my boss I no longer wish to be on a draw.

Current comp plan is as follows:
Salary- ~48k w/ draw up to about 80k, full OTE with commissions should be ~170000, this is all increased by kickers every 250k in sales that increase commission/draw

My questions is if the draw is removed, how much salary should I be asking for?

I feel like I've been lowballed, can someone explain the below breakdown please?

Base salary: 60k
Quarterly quota (per quarter): 107k
Quarterly bonus (per annum): 23k
130% Annual bonus = 11.5k
"23% commission on quota minus base": 37k (don't understand this)
"Proposed 23% commission on 150% quota minus base": 86.5k
Sales commission threshold per month: 22k
OTE: 122k
Cost/Sales: 28%

That base salary is lower than my previous base by a significant amount by 32.7%
