Thankfully I'm not in the snow zone currently, but I used to live in an area prone to bad storms so I know to take them seriously. The thing about a storm like this one coming is that people do have time to prepare and get ready to stay off the roads. If enough people heed the warnings, it makes it a bit safer for people who may need to drive.

That’s good you are not in the snow zone!
I'm on call this weekend so im preparing for a storm... literally. I'll probably get a ton of calls.
Rising Star
Oh man good luck!!! You got it
My work place will be closed on Monday…and possibly Tuesday. Thank goodness! I have never driven on icy roads before.
Rising Star
Thank gooodness they closed on Monday
As a pharmacist, you are considered an essential worker so even if your state declares a state of emergency, you’re still expected to show up.
Rising Star
Definitely travel safely
I work in healthcare, and someone has to be here to take for out clients. I live further from my job than most of my colleagues and I am the only one on my shift that didn’t call in. I know everyone doesn’t drive in snow and ice but my God even the one man on my shift called out. Of course the administrative nurses were here to help but I know that they want to be home as well.
Impacted, yes, however we are still expected to be at work. Some of the bridges close here when it snows and ices and I can't get to work any other way. But we are essential workers so I am expected to be there.
Rising Star
Definitely drive safely! You need to protect yourself in order to help others
We're still expected to come in regardless of the weather. It's supposed to be pretty nasty, so I'm going to do my best, but I'm not going to endanger my life if the weather really is as bad as they're saying.
Rising Star
Definitely proceed with caution

We’re currently under a state of emergency and my facility has a few rooms set aside in case any employees need to stay instead of trying to travel anywhere during the storm.
Rising Star
Agreed! We all actually ended up being able to make it home safely!
You do not, I repeat, you do not put your job ahead of your safety. And if your area declares state of emergency, you’re really only allowed to be on the roads if you are considered an “essential” worker.
Rising Star
I totally agree with you
Expected to be there. We will see if I make it. My apartment complex is terrible at dealing with snow and last snow storm we had the plow they hired piled snow behind all our cars overnight while it was freezing rain which froze the snow mounds. Nobody was getting to work that morning
Rising Star
Proceed with caution and safety in mind
My department has been remote since the pandemic, so inclement weather doesn't affect our working schedule!....I think, this in itself, is why the company won't send us back to the brick and mortar office building!
