Anyone here work at UF Shands in Florida? I’m interested in working there long term, but how easy is it to get in? How easy is it to transfer departments (such as from auditing to compliance)? Are the health benefits any good?

Any suggestions on this will be helpful. Thanks.

The work I do now is very different and much more technical; however, the skills are pretty translatable. Could anyone shed any insight as to the work being done in this field? I've spoken to a few people at McK but would love to hear more to see if this would be worth pursuing. Thanks!

I need advice. A student at my worksite came to school with a gun. He’s a SPED kid, and administration did not inform anyone. I had to help the teacher and instructional aide deal with the incident. I told the AP that we needed to do more. I was ignored. I fear for the safety of teachers and students. What can I do, when union reps got involved and administrators did nothing.

I was just offered an RN II position at Stanford Hospital’s B3 unit for $84/hour. Are there any RNs out there who can tell me what it’s like working on the unit and if it’s worth leaving my job for? I love my current job, my schedule and the people. I have no problems with it except that it’s 1.5 hours away from my family and it pays $25/hour less than Stanford.

Also, do you think it’s too late to ask if I can visit the unit before I make my decision? Thanks in advance.
