Any insights/opinions on living in Toluca Lake?
I just got an offer from EY in London but considering based on what the maternity policy is which doesn’t seem to be spelt out in contract or benefits pdf. Does anyone know a) if there’s a minimum employment period to qualify and b) what the enhanced maternity pay is. I’ve read both 16 weeks and 18 weeks.
Anyone in SF here??

That’s exactly what it means. You are not one of the chosen ones. You can bring it up, but don’t be surprised if they act surprised, blow smoke, and start dangling rotten carrots out in front of you to bide time.
Are there avenues provided for professional development? Usually an HR offering, directly or thru an online system. If there is and you’re not utilizing it or requesting info, then it tracks that they aren’t either.
If there isn’t, ask about possibilities and make sure that’s part of your evaluation. Do pursue development on your own if needed.

Yeah it sounds like they’re not planning or expecting much growth for you.you can bring it up, but if you’re really wanting career growth, I’d shop around for a place willing to provide that opportunity.
I think it can be a red flag, but it is also something worth bringing up directly first. Some managers are so focused on daily operations that they do not naturally think about career development unless the employee initiates the conversation.
I would use the next 1-on-1 to ask clearly: “I’d like to discuss my long-term growth here. What skills, metrics, or opportunities would position me for advancement?” Their response will tell you a lot.
If they give you a real plan, timeline, and support, that is a good sign. If they avoid the conversation, give vague answers, or keep you doing the same work with no path forward, then you may have your answer.
Growth should be intentional — not something you have to beg for after years of proving yourself.
