Hi all,
Please help me understand if I should accept this position or not?
I was working as a regular staff therapist for 2 years at an assisted living when just 2 weeks back the HR approached me with an offer to work at a newly opened senior living, so basically I will helping them set up that location from scratch, open it and get it running. For doing all this they have not even clearly offered me a promotion, raise or a change in position. What should I do?

Please help🙏🏻

I feel that should absolutely include a raise .
I think you need to advocate this for yourself since they didn’t offer , very rude of them.
With that being said, if you are satisfied at your position and get a raise it is probably worth taking. For me, it would be contingent on a raise .

Congratulations! They obviously value you and your judgment. Now decide how much it’s worth to you to take this extra responsibility and effort to help open this new facility? Then go to them and ask what they are offering to do this extra work? Because it is … a lot of EXTRA work and effort to start something new. Decide what your number is and walk away from the “opportunity” if they decide not to pay you for it.

like

As you suspect, a great opportunity but unclear if it’s a lateral move.

You could respond directly you are interested, and ask them what the job title and pay is—having said that, if it’s closer to your house or you otherwise want a new venue or new responsibilities, this is a great way to get this and obtain the skills needed to move up elsewhere if not there.

likehelpful

This is NOT a lateral move even if they try to present it that way. I think it’s disingenuous of them to put the negotiation solely in your lap…so they’re telling you something about them. That said, advocate for yourself salary-wise while identifying the non-tangible benefits that would go with this move. Decide what your acceptable salary increase is and go from there.

Never forget what they teach you about how they will treat you. It will be true when you’re in leadership too.

like

Clarify for them the split between administrative and patient care they expect you to be doing, and get an appropriate title. You might be "Therapy Coordinator" or "Lead Therapist" or even "Clinical Manager" depending on how much they put on your plate and if there is also a similar nursing counterpart and see what their title is compared to their mix of admin:clinical work.

like

You need to ask HR if this extra responsibility entails a raise/promotion, or will lead to one.

like

Update: The HR wants me to work for a few months in the new location and then they will see if they can give me a raise/promotion if their clinic is running up to the set expectations.
Is it even worth taking the job?

Um. Absolutely not! You get a guaranteed pay increase in writing before you ever take on a higher position with more work. The fact that they suggested you take on this higher role with out a pay/ wage increase is shifty !others wise they will take advantage of you and you're never getting a pay increase

Hey fishes need a little suggestion here.

I had three offers initially. Company A,B,C. C was paying the highest.

Company A revised my offer to C's offer, now Company B is also willing to revise their offer and give a little better offer than C and A.

I had already accepted revised offer from Company A once..
Would it be an issue if I don't join A now and join B instead.. I have 2 weeks of notice period left. If I join B now.. how do I convey it to A ?

Hi Sharks
Need your advice on below.

I’ll be joining amex in disputes (band 28). Salary discussion is yet to happen however, HR told me in our first discussion that the budget for this role is 7 LPA and she won’t go beyond that. My current CTC is 6.5 LPA. Should I negotiate on the salary once I receive the offer?

Have heard HR usually have a good margin and candidate should never accept the first offer even if the salary was discussed in the very first round.

I'm offered a role of Specialist ( Package implementation) with 7 YOE @LTI. Is this equivalent to a role of team lead??

Any input on employers is appreciated!
