My question to you is why not? Are you interested in the Product Management track. What makes you doubt? What is your current role? What other options do you have? May sound like preaching, but the focus should be on building your skills rather than becoming a employee of XYZ company (especially if you see the recent way some leading Product companies are treating even some of their experienced employees)
Ah ok. If your concern is whether Product Owners have a good future, please search for the number of product openings in LinkedIn. Programming knowledge is only good to have (not must have). But without empathy for software products development processes and challenges, you will definitely have a tough initial time especially during Scrum. If I was you, I would have also taken up some programming courses just to get a feel. If you cleared the interview, I am assuming you know what Product ownership entails. Else take up some good PO training courses on Udemy. Goodluck and Godspeed!
