I have interview scheduled and completed from Commonwealth Bank Bangalore location. All technical rounds cleared.
When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..
I am bit confused with commonwealt

I don't think insurance has the same ageism problem as a lot of other industries, at least not as bad. I recently just found a job and I'm in my late 50s.
I'm not sure about adjusters but it seems like there's always a company that will hire. If you're in that age bracket or just thinking of the future - I wouldn't be concerned with that, but do negotiate for your pay. I noticed those who are older than me still won't - but you should most definitely.

I think it would depend on the skill level of the positions. While it’s a little harder to get mid level positions because they want people to stay longer, I’ve seen more skilled professionals get senior level or managerial positions pretty easily. Especially in insurance the more years of experience, the better.
I think age discrimination is just a fact of life, and that's true in the insurance industry. The problem, of course, is that it's virtually impossible to prove. Companies can always find a reason to pass over a candidate and they're never going to say it's an issue of age.
