As someone who has really only ever wanted to do Life Sci consulting (not generalist consulting), it's been so discouraging to see such a large fraction of the boutiques go down the PE route....
Come to LEK
Been at two boutiques that were acquired by PE company. I left the first because of how badly the culture deteriorated. My current firm (which also was acquired) seems to be heading down a similar path, but it is too soon to tell.
Nothing has changed culturally in my pod since the deal. We also already had a growth/PE firm involved before, so I’m not expecting a dramatic cultural shift.
Same. No change in my POD either. LT has been very vocal and proactive about maintaining culture. Pre-Kohlberg we had Parthenon Cap. So not expecting much change. There does seem to be some dilution but that's probably cause of massive lateral hiring and acquisitions
Not to be cynical (and I sadly might be interested in some PE work), but do things go better for a lot of people when a PE firm gets involved?
No change here either from a culture point in terms of the work… but since the new ownership it feels like they’re trying to standardize things like expensing which I haven’t been a fan of
