Is it true that I should wait until January to apply? I heard companies get their new budgets then, but I don't want to waste time if that’s just a myth. To the recruiters here: Is there actually a "best" month, or should I just keep applying now? I’d love to know if waiting for the New Year actually helps my chances.

Interviewed for Meta exactly 2 weeks ago today. Contacted the recruiter last Tuesday and they said they were waiting to hear back from the hiring manager to discuss the interview results. Anyone that interviewed or gotten a job with Meta how did it take from the onsite to get your decision? Since I had to reach out to the recruiter and haven't heard anything since I assume they're interested in another candidate.

However, now I got an email from the hiring manager that hiring for my role has been paused due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision.
