There will be an annual holiday called OCCUPY WIREHOUSE where every May 18 financial advisors and their clients congregate arm in arm in front of each firm’s home office as a sign of solidarity.

Simply to reinforce and remind the wirehouses that the real power is in that sacred relationship between the advisor and his/her client. That it’s a bond that can never be replaced by robos or call centers

like

I don't get it.

like

Boooooooooooooo. Hope you are joking because...what?

like

Ummm, I don't think the clients are going to stand in solidarity with anyone... They are benefiting from the system (ideally)

No I’m pretty sure they will stand in solidarity against the firm...like 100% sure

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. From that conversation, I saw instant red flags. Any thoughts?

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. Is anyone else experiencing this in their market?

CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?
