Is it worth trying to negotiate a $5k signing bonus? I’m happy with the offer overall, but that bonus feels a little low. I can’t tell if it's a fixed amount based on the job level or if there’s some wiggle room. Should I try to push for a higher bonus, or is it better to just take it and be happy?

You think that’s low??

I wasn’t aware accountants received signing bonuses

I always think a bigger sign-on bonus is nice if they can make it happen. It doesn't hurt to ask for it; the worst they can say is no. Most companies have more wiggle room than what they would lead you to believe.

Wow, I've never gotten a signing bonus. That's impressive.

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.
