I did one year for my Geometry class and while I liked the overall look of it, I hated the process so much. I focused on everything to fit within one page of their notebook. Goal was on the left side we glue the notes, on the right side are examples for those notes. When I created a lesson with extra pieces to be glued while I teach, it was a disaster. Today no more.
I use them now but mine are digital. We have a teacher facing one and and student facing in their Canvas course. They follow the flow of what I publish to keep theirs organized and from there all the assignments we have completed digitally are in order of the day presented.
They can tell what goes to what day by my initials & date on the published canvas areas within the course. Those headers switch our pages.
I attempted two different years. I cannot keep track of them. I forget to collect them or I forget to return them. I tell the kids they need to use a notebook of their choosing to keep examples and definitions and formulas in, but I will not be grading them.
I’ve used them for at least 7 years. My students love them! I even have high schoolers come back and tell me they still use their 7th grade notebook in high school for reference.
