Is “owning the forecast” actually empowering, or just a polite way to assign blame? I’ve seen it function as both depending on culture.

How blame is handled matters the most. The glory of getting it right, and the defeat of getting it wrong. If it’s more of a learning and improving when it goes wrong, that’s great. If it’s just pointing fingers, I wouldn’t be owning much anymore. How do you see your company culture's impact on that? Being a martyr for every little mistake means I won’t be in that position again.

Good indicator of the culture for sure

I think the risk of ownership is being blamed for bad forecast, but at the same time blowing a forecast out of the water can boost your credibility and trajectory.

Good points

I’ve seen it go both ways too. In a healthy culture, owning the forecast can feel empowering, like you actually have influence and accountability. But in the wrong environment, it can definitely feel like you’re just being set up to take the fall. I think it really comes down to whether leadership treats misses as learning moments or blame games.

Weighing whether another year of IB experience would be helpful, or would just make me one year older at the same starting point in PE.
I’m 1.5 years out of college as an analyst at a middle market bank within the healthcare M&A group. Getting worked a lot but starting to operate as an associate on deals. Debating accepting an offer for a newer, lower-MM healthcare and growth focused PE firm. I know I want to go to PE at some point, but what are some thoughts on when you should go?

Does tiger analytics ask for counter offer letter while revising offer?

So, here it is. I was having joining on last week October as a senior analyst data science in Tiger Analytics. Today I got an call from HR that due to economic recession we are going to delay your date of joining by 2 months. My notice period was of 3 months. So total duration would be 5 months. Infact even after that too they didn't send me revised offer letter. There is something wrong with this company.

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!

Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.
