Only if your firm is paying
Some firms will require a certification. But that only matters if you’re lateraling. It won’t make you a better attorney. The certifications are a joke. It’s just table stakes at this point.

Yes, but only if your firm/company pays.
Maybe, I got the cert to help get a privacy counsel role (prob didn’t need it), and have since let it lapse. It’s useless once you’re in privacy, but might help to get your first role if you’re junior. No downside to getting it if you can comfortably afford or get someone to pay for it.
