I have scheduled an interview for a Business Analyst role in Amazon
Can someone please let me know what all the skills/questions can be asked?
Thanks for your help..
Hi! I’m a Senior designer (8+years XP) with also a short experience (<2years) in Product management and Team Management.
I’m in a recruitment process for a Product manager position that seems very exciting to me, but the company didn’t give me their salary budget yet. My question is: do you think I can pretend to a senior-level salary given my profile, like I’d do if the position was Product designer? Or should I think of potentially having to downgrade from my current salary?
Thank you all!

Recently broke into Product and had a recruiter reach out for a Technical Program Manager role at Google. I want to go through the process to see what happens. However, is this a step back in my career? I’ve always wanted to work at Google but wondering if this is short sighted if I ultimately want to pursue Product Management long term?

Additional Posts in Privacy Law
I’ve recently been asked by the gc to create a big picture privacy plan along with some kind of organized documentation of privacy decisions made. Does anyone have any advice on how to accomplish that
Any advice on joining Tech GC as privacy counsel? Interested in the resources, but I know it is invite-only. Thanks in advance!
All things equal, which is viewed as more important for a prospective employer (Privacy Compliance): Law License (via Bar Exam) or CIPP/U.S.? Asked another way, which of the two candidates (assuming the candidate only had one of the two designations currently) is an employer more likely to hire? Trying to determine which of the two to prioritize and take first, working in this space (have JD).
Senior privacy associate in BigLaw considering a move in-house. Would love to get some data points regarding in-house comp. I realize that a move in-house will entail a significant pay cut, and was wondering what is the highest you’ve seen for in-house privacy (or tech trans plus privacy) positions requiring less than 10 years of experience? (I am assuming they would be at FAANG?) My BigLaw total comp for this year would be $395k- just trying to prepare myself for what the pay cut will look like

Any tips on switching from privacy consulting to an attorney role in privacy at a law firm or in-house? Seems like the market is hot but there is a barrier to entry for junior attorneys.
Thoughts on moving from med tech to manufacturing? I moved from in-house tech to in-house med tech a couple years ago. Now, given the poor WLB, I am considering making the move out of tech, despite it being an exponentially growing industry. With all the changes in privacy laws re: marketing/advertising, I believe manufacturing would still offer good privacy experience. Thoughts?
Firms hiring in Texas, Iowa or remote? Junior associate with CIPP (US +E), CIPM, and a post-grad fellowship in cybersecurity.
Just accepted a new role in-house and have had several recruiters reach out this week with new positions. If you are looking for a mid level in-house privacy role let me know and I can put you in touch.
Looking to lateral to a more prestigious firm. Sixth year with extensive privacy, data security, and data breach experience. CIPP/US certified. Anyone know of any openings?
Closed on a large acquisition this year, brought in international subs. GDPR is now all topics of conversation and I feel like I’m talking other department leaders of a doomsday “we can never get compliant” ledge. I know it’s a big lift, but it’s just a different law to figure out compliance with. Am I being too naive? Anyone have anecdotes, checklists, or advice on this?
If you are an experienced lawyer (15+ years out of school) but have only recently started doing privacy work (2-3 years), what level privacy roles do you apply to or have you had success in getting? Should I be willing to take a more junior attorney role since I don’t have years and years of privacy experience? Will companies pass over my resume because I’m too experienced? I’m currently in-house and only interested in in-house roles.
Planning to take the CIPP and CIPM. Will be doing self-study. What is the “book” everyone refers to for studying? Is it just the “study guide” the IAPP sells? Does anyone know if the study guides and sample questions you can buy on amazon are sufficient to use for passing? Appreciate any and all advice.
Been doing privacy for about a year now in-house. Got my CIPP/US.
Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.
No. It’ll be hard to transition out of a consulting job to a counsel role. I wouldn’t accept a consulting job if you want to be in a counsel role
OP of course you are since you don’t have any experience as privacy counsel yet and I’m guessing you aren’t applying for very junior privacy roles. In-house at a hospital is definitely a better segue to privacy counsel
