I really want a Privacy Counsel role so I took and passed the CIPP/US and CIPM exams this past year. I’ve been offered an Associate Director job at PwC. Is this a good stepping stone to a Privacy Counsel role? How long should I expect to work at PwC before I could apply to Privacy Counsel roles??

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. YOE : 5.6 yrs
Current package: 5.03lpa( this will get hike letter)
How can I expect from Deloitte because even for freshers they are offering more, so for 5.6 yrs how much can I expect?

I’m currently doing large scale Oracle ERP implementation and I am having difficulty finding companies that hire entry level roles. I switch fields recently so I only have around 9 months of experience and I find that most ServiceNow position requires 2+year in ServiceNow :/

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. I’m currently doing IR work but would like to do something more on the technical side (ie: more forensics or technical). Does anyone know if forensics firms or any firm that offers a mix ? I have both a Cipp-Us and cyber/ Sec+ certs.

So as a 30ish yo with a government/PE/tech background and CIPM/CIPP… I’m finding privacy work is just much easier and interesting than other kinds, but still pays plenty well.

Is it too late/inadvisable to go to law school to specifically aim for privacy work?

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…

Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.
