What do you do when small local firms won’t give your resume the time of day, but everyone you ask for resume feedback on says your materials are fine? These aren’t big law or boutiques, we’re talking probably paying $20-30 an hour part time as an associate with firms of 1-3 attorneys generally. I know biglaw is recovering from COVID but has it really hurt small law so badly getting an interview is next to impossible? Any and every practice area. Work is work. Approx. 500k local population size.
Hey Deloitte Fish!! I have a Case Interview coming up and online I see there are 3 kinda of case Studies. Should I review all 3 or the one pertaining to my experience which would be the ERP One?
My landlord gave me a 30 day notice to vacate and I had travel plans around the same time for 2 weeks. So my bf suggested I move in with him and we could see if we can be roommates. He has severe OCD.
Team dinners are the worst...almost 10 pm and no end in sight...why do ppl enjoy spending the ENTIRE night at a restaurant talking about work/the client?...
Advanced to the “case study” round of an in-house opportunity that I’m excited about. Coming from AM Law 10, but have never heard anything specific about such a study. Haven’t received it yet. What should I expect?
I want to help accelerate covid vaccine development. It looks like there's a WHO fund but also other smaller teams of researchers (e.g. johns Hopkins medicine) that are seeking donations. Any idea who the leading prospects are?
A client keeps booking my time as a contingency, and then drops my hours last minute. They’ll book my hours on the scheduling tool, then not have any actual work to do. How do I bring this up as a concern without ruffling feathers? It’s so frustrating and hurts my utilization when the firm just upped the util metrics this year /:
I’ve been in a position of being the sole provider for me and my husband for the past year now. He has been waiting on his green card interview and we have had it pushed out once already due to covid. It’s emotionally draining and while he’s the most amazing person it causes a lot more stress at work. Since not everyone goes through this it can be hard for my team to understand. It doesn’t help that my job is super demanding and stressful.
I booked a package (hotel+ flight) vacation through Expedia that got cancelled because of Covid, I was able to get my refund for the hotel but I can’t do it for the flight. The airline is telling me they’re gonna give me a credit with them but we were 8 people booking this vacation together, so having a credit makes is impossible ton manage. I Called the bank and they want a written proof that the flight is cancelled but the airline doesn’t want to send us any proof ... what do i do?
Just boarded first class SLC-ATL. Get an email to get my expenses for an engagement in by COB today. Stewardess announces there will be no wifi on this flight 🤦🏽♂️. Delta you shafted me on this one
Deloitte: is there a charge code for Jury Duty that adjusts metrics or do you just get boned on utilization?
What's PwC severance policy (a little over a year tenure with firm) cryptic invite this week- I know I'm getting canned. Someone please help
What is the best way to study for Azure fundamental cert? I am non-technical but learning the concept on the job while managing a project. Do I need to get a paid training to pass the exam or whatever on Microsoft website is sufficient? Just dont know what to expect since I dont come from a technical background.

If you were looking at two offers from the same company, how much of a comp increase would you need to take a contractor position vs a full time employee position? Please disregard the employee benefits part (Health Ins, 401k contributions, etc).
Who is seeing a lot of clients negotiate a lot more and a lot fiercer on rates/fixed fees these days? My firm is applying the same tactics on our vendors, too.
