Hey Sharks, I joined in verizon india last april, i got moved to new project at july end. I have 2.5 years of experience in java,springboot, Micrservices architecture. But in my new team deployed in a support project. Feeling depressed and frustrated. asked manager 2 times to change my responsibility. But he's accepting in call but not doing what he is promised. Please suggest what can i do here. Does droppeing paper is a good solution? Please suggest. Thanks in advance.Verizon

RIFs in India may not be at the same scale as US, since US teams are already very lean. If I am a long timer in VzIndia (>15 years) I would definitely start looking outside. His message is pretty clear, so don't expect new positions as well.
What clarity did it bring? He has only confirmed reduction. But we still don't know when or who.

Ya 2017 was brutal. It was effective immediately too. People were escorted by security guards & it was even in the news. I hope it never repeats again. I was just giving an example with PMO as that was the most impacted in our portfolio!

CapEx and OpEx plays a role here. Employees are expensive to manage with benefits, etc. Vendors are relatively simple in terms of expenses. Also all execs have good friends in big vendors companies, rest you can assume.
Are they going to track utilization and decide based on that or our leadership will have a say in who to let go
